Skip Woodfin

Lead Pastor

          Pastor Woodfin has been in full time ministry for 41 years which began while still training in Bible College.  He and his wife, Dana, have been married since 1984.  Their ministry brought them to Hawaii in 2000, and they immediately fell in love with the Islands and the people who live here.  Pastor and Mrs. Woodfin have one son who is a pastor in San Francisco, another son who is a pastor in Lahaina,  Maui, and a daughter who is active in the ministry on the island of Kauai.  They have four grandsons and two granddaughters that they adore. Pastor and Mrs. Woodfin count it a great honor to serve the people of Ko`olau Baptist Church as well as the community.  They have a real passion for helping people walk closer with the Lord and building strong families.

Rob Mirasol

       Pastor Rob grew up in West Oahu where as a young man he gave his life to serve the Lord.  He and his wife, Emmeline, met at Bible College in Pensacola Florida and married in 2007.  They and have been blessed with five precious daughters.  Rob joined the KBC ministry staff in 2007.  Both Rob and Emmeline are talented musically and are active in the music ministry at Ko`olau in addition to leading our youth ministry.  Pastor Rob’s love for his native state is apparent in everything he says and does.  Rob and Emmeline have a desire to mentor young people into becoming strong in their faith as they prepare for the future.

Brian Valladares

Our principal, Mr. Brian Valladares arrived on Oahu with his wife, Amanda in 2014.  He served on the faculty of  Ko`olau Baptist Academy as a math and science teacher for six years.  Brian was born in Manhattan, New York to Hispanic immigrant parents.  He went through the New York public school system and graduated in 2005.  After high-school, God led him to attend Pensacola Christian College where he received the Lord as his personal Savior in the fall of 2005.  He surrendered his life to Christ in the Spring of 2008.  In 2010, he graduated with a B.A. Degree in Humanities and then went on to earn a M.S. Degree in Curriculum and Instruction- Science Specialization. He and his wife married in 2010 and serve God  side-by -side in the KBA ministry as well as in the Ko`olau Baptist Church.  Mr. Valladares moved into the Principal position at KBA in the fall of 2020.  Mr. Valladares is determined to carry on the legacy of God-honoring academic excellence that generations of educators have built in Ko`olau Baptist Academy.

Dana Woodfin

      Dana grew up in a Christian home and began serving in her church as a teenager teaching a children’s Sunday school class, serving in the nursery, serving as teen class secretary, and singing in the choir.  Serving the Lord has been her life and the Lord has led her and Pastor to serve in many capacities such as church planting in  Texas and Hawaii and Missionaries in Indonesia before taking the position at KBC in 2011.  She works in the church office assisting Pastor and leads in women’s ministries of the church.  She writes the children’s Sunday school lessons and teaches a ladies Bible class in Sunday school.  She loves being a Tutu to her six precious grandchildren.

Joan Sadoyama

      Joan grew up in Wahiawa, HI and has resided for decades in Waihole Valley with her husband of over 40 years, Norman, who is a farmer.  The Sadoyamas came to know the Lord at Ko’olau Baptist in the mid 1980’s, and they have raised their five children in the church.  Joan has worked in the ministry for over 35 years, and serves as the office manager.   Norman and Joan lead the Lanakila class at KBC, our very dynamic senior citizen ministry.

Carmen Cook

Carmen grew up in a Christian home in California and was saved as a young girl. Her parents relocated to Hawaii shortly after she was married. Her husband was stationed with the military in Hawaii and they decided to make their home here.  She is the mother of three beautiful girls. She has faced life's challenges with grace, courage, and a beautiful smile on her face.  She is a blessing to have in our office, greeting all who enter with a sweet smile and words of encouragement.
